Hope everyone is doing ok!
I’ve made some progress today! After 7 months of playing, I am finally managing to get my head around understanding key signatures and finger patterns! I’ve had a few light bulb moments.
I’m learning Memory from Cats which is in C mayor! It’s tough going and it sounds ... what was the word ... dreadful !! Ha ha ! But it’s a lovely song and a challenge! Still doing the others such as Romeo and Juliet and the Godfather! This one is good for the slurs!

Stick at it, 7 months is nothing. Remember its all about enjoyment.
Do you know if you learn the A major scale in two octaves, then play exactly the same finger patterns all the way up the neck you can then play all the major keys, flat and sharp, just by using the same finger pattern, same goes for minor keys as well once you learn minor scale patterns.

Scales, scales, scales, 😁 Practice will sort out your finger problem with the c, EVERYONE struggles with placing fingers at first, its not easy on violin, on a fretted in strument its very simple, like painting by numbers, thats why not many play violin its hard, no doubt about it. When I started with guitar a long, long time ago, I was playing gigs in a band after only six months, absolutely true. After starting fiddle six months later I felt like smashing it against the wall lol.
As for playing in tune, the worlds greatest violinists practice intonation all the time, the more your ears improve the easier it will get. you seem to think that ou are the only one who has problems, dont worry, we all do. I have been playingtwo years now, and friends say to me, thought u would have mastered it by now, and they are serious, those who dont play, or play other instruments really have no idea how difficult is.
