I'm just getting started - looking for a violin and arranging for a teacher.  I've had some music background and can sight read a bit.  Plan on taking weekly lessons and practicing daily.

What got me thinking of the violin was when I came across a young girl playing the song "May it be" from Lord of the Rings on U-Tube.  I was hooked.  My question is - just how difficult is that piece of music and how long before I could play it for my own enjoyment (not professionally by any means)  I'm setting that song as my goal and would like to get some idea on the time involved, assuming a student with average abilities.
