START YOUR OWN POLL

When replying to or creating a new topic you will see a "Poll" icon directly beneath the text field.

Press the "Poll" icon, fill in the blanks and choose create poll when done.

A short code will appear in your text field and all you need to do is to Submit Topic or Submit Reply and you're good to go. :-)

It's that simple.

Thanks

I'm not seeing the "Poll" icon when I add a topic and try to edit it.  Funny thing is that I do see that icon when doing a post in other groups---just not in this one.  Anyone else having this problem?

Polls are perhaps a curious thing. This section is quiet, but there may be multiple reasons for that.

Other sites I belong to have poll facilities which are rarely used. My uke site is full of grumpy old men and grumpy young men who are in training to become grumpy old men, and the last poll I set was received with deep suspicion and scorn (I couldn't decide how much money to spend on a violin, so I asked them how much their best ukes cost).

So polls may be seen as intrusive by some people, even though answering them is anonymous and voluntary. But all the Fiddlerman polls are fun.

Also the Fiddlerman poll section is perhaps a little opaque, although I can't see why. For example, recently there was a pop-poll about "would you like an octave violin?" I decided that I'd much rather have a viola, so I simply answered "no", but I can't find the poll question to add a reply saying why I chose that answer.

ROFL. You have a point. I don't even remember who wanted to have that question on there.

Everyone feel free to PM me if you have a specific poll idea. I keep forgetting about that section.
