'Tonalis' - say what?

Had this word pop up in the Klezmer Modes article by Josh Horowitz & I drew a blank.

Got to thinking maybe I really don't understand what 'Tonality' is.  Really hate getting sidetracked, but this seemed important.

So, think I found a good source if, like me, you want to understand more. 😁

What is Tonality in Music - And Why Does it Matter?

yes...the last note is a very strong indication of tonic or mode. along with where "home" feels like...for instance say a tune has a key signature of D but that A note just feels like home or resolved  ...especially ending phrase ( speaking trad )... good hint tune may be A mixolydian.  hmm an A scale with a flat G note..whats up with that 🤔

I understand that, but 'tonalis' threw me for a loop... 🤬 using big words on me. (lol)
