Great videos, John and Toni! I had intended to record something today but a home improvement project ended up taking the whole day and now I'm wiped out. I'll try to get it done before the end of the weekend.

I don't think it really matters which forum the party is in. Sure, it would have been logical to put it in the Members' Projects forum, but since it's already started here, let's keep it going here.

Happy Independence Day to all!

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

@Barry Thanks Barry. Great stuff. We know the tune well down here :)

Even though I'm not an American aussie_flag I'm loving every minute of this.

I don't learn a tune as quickly as you can, but I just 'may' try to get another post done before it's too late. No promises. :)

Seen it all. Done it all. Can't remember most of dunno ..... What was I saying???? facepalm

Good job, Barry.  I think I was in 10th grade in 1959 when Johnny Horton recorded that song. It was a huge hit.

I confess, I knew the tune from hearing it so it didnt take much to learn it, once I had the general lay of the tune through sheet music, I kind of just let my ear take over

Anyone have something to post.  I think you all should feel free to post some "homeland" or "national" song of your own also. I would love love to hear it.

Come on down.. :)

Nice tune, new to me @Barry, well done!

Here's my contribution - I just CANNOT get video and audio synched, so here's one of my attempts on soundcloud...  (OK, it's the 5th now, but it still counts! )... I think I overdid the echo... no matter... LOL

Great job guys. Thanks. Everyones contributions are great.

Barry - Though your fiddling is always fun to listen to, you gave me an idea. You have proven that you can sing too.......dancingdancingdancingdancing

I always admire a fiddler who sings and plays especially when they pull off doing the both at the same time. Have you ever tried it? I know it's hard to do, and I don't think I could pull it off even if I could sing, but if you care to try, I'd like to hear about it. :)

Great tune by the way.

Thanks again everyone thumbs-up

Ive dabbled with singing while fiddling, it can be done with a little practice. The old time fiddle dance callers basically did it

No apologies necessary. I actually made that video because of your suggestion. :) I want as many people to post their stuff as possible and I don't want comparisons made.
