Change of subject, now that we started this subject: Childhood Playtime:

I had forgotten about hula hoops! I used to be really good at that in my skinny mousy days.

I think there is or was 10 pin bowling here. I know there was, and still is, bumper bowling for kids. There was a soda/icecream shop downtown with a bowling alley. That was fun.

Yep, jump rope and double jump rope, and hopscotch.

My parents built us stilts of different heights. That was fun. It was actually quite easy. Probably not so easy now.

I used to roller skate a lot. We had the only house with a sidewalk, so our sidewalk was, more or less, Main Street with roller skates and pedal cars when the neighbor brought his red pedal car. Since we were the only ones with a sidewalk, I could never figure out why his parents got him a pedal car. It did not work on a dirt trodden path. 🥴

At the end of the sidewalk, I removed the skates from the sneakers and walked down the street to visit all the neighbors. I think I was the only member of my family who knew everyone, in either direction, in our neighborhood.

I lived at the skating rink all Winter. Tried it again back in 2004 or so, when we had a trip to NYC awarded to us. We went to Central Park. They did not have regular iceskates. They had those molded plastic things that you cannot tie up securely, and dig into the leg.  You need the leather skate boots you lace up so your feet become one with the skate! So disappointing.

If this topic continues, I will add more.

Not gibberish, but an observation about the thread.

Every time I visit the forum the number of unread posts showing on this topic seems too many (like showing 17 new posts when there's really only been one or two) so when I click on 'first unread' it takes me back to posts I read on my previous visit.

Might be a glitch from joining the 2 threads together??

Not sure, but it basically it was basically just a move. I am not having that issue. Weird.

Quick let us change our direction or we'll reach our destination!

What is the destination? How will we know if we got there? Whatever will we do if we get there. ARE WE THERE YET?

Can I have. snack? No eating in the car.

Quick, hang a left. No, your other left!

I believe if we take a right turn go to the end of the road take a right, then take a right at the intersection go forward and take a right at the corner we will surely reach unchartered territory.thumbs-up

I just did it finally!

Landed a gig playing lead theremin with an all acoustic jug band.
