@Ilona I think life is good when you can say, “I had a little time for Bach yesterday. . .”  It is wonderful.  You played it well.

I had a little time for Bach yesterday, so here’s another video. Do I need to tell that I love Bach?! 😄

We are just diving into baroque music in my lessons, my teacher wants me to learn some Marcello’s sonatas.

Who knows this one?

Sounds awesome Ilona!  Great selections!

Here y'all go - guess which Bach?

18 measures of why I don't think anyone will ever question why I don't play more Classical music - think it paralyzed the little finger on my bowing hand! (lol)

GREAT PARTY!

...as already warned, my Bach is the same as Ilona's second, but nobody can probably tell!  Sorry, Bach! 😖

Wow, Emily, I have never heard violin version of that! You did great! That would be fun to play as a duet! 😊

@Ilona , @ABitRusty , @Mark  -

Thank you for being so sweet!

I am pretty ashamed of this one... almost enough to commit a bit more to memory and have another go at a better recording. (lol)

@maudmaud -

Bach Bourrée is CORRECT!  Suite No. 3

Ilona also played much more of this on her cello.

So glad you joined the Party!

You sound beautiful ✨ - thank you for sharing your Bach!

I'm not going to say what you played, think someone else needs to guess. 😁

...now, what about the rest of you - who actually play Classical music on a regular basis?

Decided today that I'd throw in two movements of Bach. They're not from the same piece.

#1:

#2:

The second one of these was just assigned at the end of my lesson last weekend -- I'll be working on the full piece, and it will be the first piece I ever work on with a teacher. (I'm now taking Zoom lessons with a focus on injury rehab and prevention, from a teacher who had to take months off from conservatory with an injury similar to mine.)

@AndrewH -

So glad you are playing a bit more now!

I too, really liked the 2nd Bach you played. 🤗

Is it Suite No.2 in Dmin?

Also enjoyed your 1st Bach, but

you have me completely stumped on that piece. 🤔

Really wonderful you joined the Party!

...hope you continue to feel better!

AndrewH

Thank you for posting,

I agree with Greg I like the second one just a bit better than the first one, both sound good.

@ELCBK You are correct, the second one is the Prelude from Cello Suite No. 2 in D minor. I'll be working on the entire suite in upcoming lessons. Unaccompanied Bach is great for working on posture and movement.

I recognised the second one, but then I've got the CDs of Rostropovich and Tortelier.

Expressive bowing is also what unaccompanied Bach teaches us, according to my book of etudes which employs the Loure from BWV 1006. Not an easy piece.

Lots of partying going on the last few days that I've missed, I'm trying to catch up--

@ELCBK , @maudmaud, @AndrewH You all did great--

I think I know AndrewH's 1st video piece--but as party host, I'll hold off with my guess.
