@ABitRusty -
FABULOUS!
Love your lively playing & ingenious video - don't know how you come up with this great stuff!
Yes, tree & decorations still up!
We're supposed to have snow tomorrow - the first time since Christmas!
It's been a bit dreary around here, missing all the excitement
& I needed this pick-me-up!
THANK YOU - I really enjoyed this!
I was thinking I should've recorded today,
just KNEW you'd beat me to it with a tough act to follow!
...Christmas should last until Mardi Gras!

Really nice and fun, @ABitRusty. Wondering how much time went into that video… but the result is well worth it.
its hard to say because some of the video type stuff ive done before so i didnt have to figure out this time. I will say i thought about what i was going to do and how to approach it for a week or so. I started learning the tune Thursday? or Friday... not for sure. i listened to a few versions.. My favorite is April Verch's. but i wqtched Erynn Marshalls how to play it vid and think Im playing a mashed up version of some type. its not exact..but what my brain and ears are able to do..lol.
Id say to sit down and setup everything...play the tune each part...i played the mandolin and bass but didnt film .those and they were and after thought..i just used the audio...then mix it all in presonus... edit the video in davinci resolve.. around 6 to 8 hours.... breaking it up for home "stuff" i got lost in the fun of it all though so couldve been 10 to 12.. these have all my favorite hobbies rolled into 1.. 😁
thanks again all!

thanks @SharonC ! all of you have made some really great post this year and party! Just trying to keep up honestly and put a bit more into presentation this time.
The dancing figures... i did not make those btw. i searched for animated chroma keyed Christmas bagrounds or something and found them. Theres alot out there to use. When i saw it i figured he looked like a buck dancer or something so went with that.

Thank you all for listening & I really appreciate your comments!
I started out on December 28th, learning "I Believe In Father Christmas" by Greg Lake (of Emerson, Lake & Palmer), but didn't have time to try it with EV, so chose not to record it now... my next project!
I'm glad I was able to learn & memorize these other 2 by ear (and record them), even though they weren't up to speed - but I really wish I'd given myself more than a week to make something sound decent. All in all, I always learn a lot from recording (which I don't do enough of) - so it's good I did this! 🤗 I think both tunes deserve more exploration on my part, though.
This is where I learned these tunes:
"Yule Fiddler" (Christmas Time Is Coming 'Round Today)
"Snow Waltz" (Lindsey Stirling)
