John G 😀 thanks hmmm not sure about that! I’m doing a waltz … won’t give it away but I think it will be a while before I can record. I think it’s really hard . If I can do it though I’ll be really happy ! Maybe this time next year ha ha

@JohnG  Nice playing on Green Grass of Home.  All that time you’ve put in allows you to print off something like that & play it right off—nice. smile

@stringy  Great playing on Wind That Shakes The Barley.  Didn’t notice the repeat issue—that’s how polished you are as a musician—don’t let it show wink

Down by the Salley Gardens was a poem written by Irish poet W.B. Yeats, published in a collection of poems in 1895.

Yeats claimed that his poem was a partial reconstruction of part an old song he remembered sung by an old peasant woman.

It was set to music by Herbert Hughes in 1909 (tune also known as The Maid of Mourne Shore).

@Mark  @JohnG  @stringy   @ABitRusty  @ELCBK

Thanks, all

I debated about transposing this up a 5th or so – but I guess I felt driven by all the viola activity on here to play lower smile

Emily, there definitely needs to be a gif badge made for you

I think you did well, considering how demanding that piece is. I had looked at it and decided I wasn't willing to tackle it yet. Kudos to you!

Thanks johnG stringy and Emily. I’ll definitely keep going and thanks for the tutorial ! I was 0% happy when I started and now I’m about 5%.  The string crossings are hard as are the high notes !
