@ABitRusty -
I really hope someone takes you up on your VERY generous offer to record a slow version of "Scatter The Mud" for fiddlers to learn from!
Before I saw your reply, I had already found a different version from Charles Monod & started with it.
I keep thinking I'll try to be more sensible about using standard notation when available, but confess I still rather learn these tunes by ear.
Did find the sheet music that goes with the video I'm learning from, here - but I'm sure there are versions on thesession.org, also.

Thanx for inspiring me, again!

@ABitRusty Down by the River - another tune that has multiple versions/known by different names.

Thought this was an interesting version - he's using a 5-string (I was thinking "don't get the fiddle wet!"):
Characterize people by their actions and you will never be fooled by their words.

oh thats a good one @SharonC ! Yes thats a great version of it. like the chops!
@Ripton I got a chuckle later when i read your post again."..if the rain holds of i will go down to the river and play..." because i thought it was a play on words for this song... I started wondering later if it was a literal statement which is even more funny now with the tangent i sent it off into. sorry if did that..wasnt intentional but good for a laugh on me now i suppose.

@elcbk sorry...answer to your question in post above.... I think this is closer to what i was playing.. the other sounds great to though. this is just closer to the tune played here by that name.
