Katie-m

Thank you!

You’re doing good work on Blue Danube! It’s a tricky one.  Big string crossings, string direction things, etc., Lots going on at once smile

I remember when I was learning it.  I had taken a strings workshop, & was in a private lesson & I brought Blue Danube out to work on.  I told the instructor (since I was having so much trouble with it) that “I guess I just keep hearing the quacking.”  He looked strange at me—didn’t know what I was talking about.

I think maybe only those over 50 years old now (or maybe some younger Looney Tunes fans) know what I mean.  Whenever I hear Blue Danube, I think of (and hear) the Looney Tunes version (quack-quack – quack-quack. . .):

@Katie L -

You're doing great with intonation & string crossing!

Relax & get into the mood of the waltz... you want to be 'lifted' across the dance floor.

@SharonC -

I remember that one!

Nice to see you're reminiscing about our music Alma mater, again. 🤣

...and thank you for the GIF badge. 🤭

@Katie M

I did not know the name of the tune but I instantly recognized it. Thank you for enlightening me as to the name of the tune.

And your coming along nicely, as mentioned you were a bit stiff while playing, easy to say but for me hard to do is relax, and enjoy playing

That cartoon was brilliant Sharon ! Real light relief after practicing! Thanks Sharon Abitrusty, Emily mark I appreciate! I think I’m a bit happy with the progress otherwise I wouldn’t have uploaded it .. but it’s a bit sawing wood! Ha ha! Definitely need to get the waltz vibe going and yes I need to relax . Also just realised it’s 2 pages long so I’m just going to do the 1 page 🤣

Beautiful playing Mark, love the vibrato just right not too overstated.  Nice and relaxing to listen to.

No snow here, but it is cooler, after 75-80 during the past week– 45 degrees at noon today.  Low tonight projected as 22 – that’s pretty low here, especially in March.

@ABitRusty -

COOL!

💖 this jig - going on my list!
💖 your nice, clean playing!
💖 the special fx & great camera angle!
Would've loved to see both your hands.
Got any more up your sleeve?

GREAT Outdoors Party!

You just made me realize the importance of an external mic for my phone!

Seeing how just using my smartphone to record is limiting, because I find myself compromising mic position for camera position - Thanx!

I think it's hilarious you get more snow than we do. 🤣

thanks @elcbk .  i was shooting for a mud bog as a backdrop but couldnt get the camera angle right for my liking.  deleted mud bog and with the green key on and no background the abyss appeared and after some well planned ( random tweaks )  i found a great undead look for a halloween party thread next year.

Yeah i need to work on getting both hands in shot.  i messed that up.  the screen is a bit narrow.  i shouldve took some time to matte the sides out.

fun tune though.  i can record a slower version maybe tommorow if its of interest.  itll just be with phone though.

Love it! Visual was really great and liked the use of green screen to get the black background coupled with reduced saturation and gray clothing. The playing was excellent as well and the use of some reverb really enhanced it.
