Stitches full of stitches seems like a good one to learn.

Anyone got the music sheet for it?

Barry...sounds like fun!!!!

I watched videos last night on Irish.."trills"  Or maybe the word is five note rolls?   I thought she did a pretty good job explaining them.... but I think it might be over my head.  Going to play around and give it a shot.  Apparently there are 4 five note rolls in The Theme to Last of the Mohicans (The Kiss)... if you can get the rolls down you have about 80 percent of the song....

I "looked at" Bile violin four last night.... played through with the FM video... hummm not sure I can get it...but it seems fun at least.

I have been playing Sad Romance since yesterday... well attempting to get used to it.  It is pretty.

Enjoy

I'm also working on those songs too Barry. I have the book, Learn to Play Irish Fiddle by Phillip John Berthoud *as well as many more*. Looks like a couple of you posted some sheet music. I'm in the middle of a record label battle that is hurting me financially big time. I know most of you are beginners on this site but man can't you dig up a couple bucks and pay for sheet music?

I agree with you MGN.
I live in 'rip off Britain' ( everything is taxed to the hilt, for minimal/no return on our taxes) so I do spend my time trying not to pay, or paying wisely if I have the choice. I don't mind beating the big corporations, but not the average Joe.
I don't think we deliberately want to short change the "little man" it's just we need an education process to allow us to recognise the difference between the two.
I guess I'm trying to say, don't get angry with us, educate us. hats_off

I think if you are working on a tune, and someone requests a copy of that tune to learn along with you, its fine. Send via email, no ones getting ripped off. Good lord, share the music, play together and learn from each other, thats what its all about. I just want to feel like Ive helped someone who is otherwise struggling. Peace, love, apple pie. PF.

I'm not angry at all Picklefish. Do what you want, if you think that is ok. I don't have a day job. Song writing is my lively hood not a hobby. We're just talking sheet music on this post.... Go ahead and pay for your Frito's at the gas stop or whatever and don't worry about passing around free sheet music when you could just pay 99 cents to a couple dollars for a song that someone wrote. How far along do you think that bag of Frito's goes?  Not very far. But they get paid for every single bag.

I will share my corn chips if you ask.

Just today I was at the book store and bought some more music.  In the case of old country tunes where they were pasted down and who knows who wrote it I have no qualms about free music but modern tunes or music that someone has spent time arranging. These items should be paid for and in most cases they aren't very much usually no more than that fancy cup of coffee.

Thanks for your opinions but you guys have made your points and we don't need to discuss paying for sheet-music or not anymore on this forum. Perhaps start a new discussion dedicated to this subject with respect for one and others opinions.

I do a lot of stuff for free here because I know that many people have it tough with their economy. By the same token I'm very happy when members are generous and help me out as well but have no expectations. I hope that those who are very well off economically pay for music from time to time. I rather we give our opinions but not judge others here.
