Just to prove I'm actually practising for Xmas.  Ok, it's awful, but I'm sure it will improve.

I can't manage the first violin part, but hopefully I'll get this one polished enough to join in.

If you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right.

You are reminding me that I better get on those parts too...It will take some time to edit us so we should all start working on the song. It's going to be great!

I'm happy with whatever is possible, let's put it to the boss and see if it's a good idea, what do other people think?

It is also fine to put links to personal uploads too, but I was just thinking of trying to collate all our efforts into one place.

I am currently working on finding out why the file uploads are disappearing and will get back on that soon. Will definitely try to find a solution and place on my server where you can all post your progress.

In the meanwhile are your ideas are great. Thanks

Whatever ....... my last file post (MP3 in "Oliver") first comes up with the QuickTime icon but no audio.  The Quicktime tool bar then appears after 15 or 20 seconds and things are normal.  It is like the file is being loaded each time rather stored in the FM "Browser" location ?   Not major issue but no glitches when first installed.

Here we go. Let's get cracking on this project.

This is the new post link for this project. Please feel free to send as many fiddlers here as possible so that we can have a nice end product. The more the merrier.

Here are some practice videos as well, I made them very quickly without practicing the parts so please let me know if I made any stupid mistakes. For one, I noticed that I was much faster than 60. Maybe over 70. Let me know if you guys want to play as slow as 50 instead.

VIOLIN 4

VIOLIN 3

VIOLIN 2

VIOLIN 1

Incidently, the violin 2 PDF part has a 0 for an Eb and I first noticed it when recording the demo. Please scratch the 0 and put a 4 there instead.

Sounds good...I'll start practicing on them this week. I vote we stay at 60.

I second the motion made by the Gentleman from California! I have really got to get cracking on this.

How about the Eb (  in parentheses  ) in bar 25, 26 ?   Doesn't sound right to me and what does parentheses mean ?   On part 1.

The parentheses are to remind you to play the Eb which is in the key signature anyway. It would be played wrong by many if I didn't point it out. I'm sure that it is correct though Oliver. Listen to the mp3 of the whole thing and you'll hear it.

Yeah, sounds OK in context.  I was OK with the key signature but I was confused with the special parentheses.

Where can I get MP3 of the whole thing.  I thought I only saw parts  ?

Those were midi files posted separate and I think I remember Barry posting them all together right after. You can also download each part and load them into Audacity or any DAW and play them together that way.

I just started practicing violin 4 and 3, after watching FM demonstrated it, it triggered my interest… i actually like them both now.i could saw away the whole piece, but I still need to work on the expression and the techniques:P.

Any way, what does the 17 from bar 45 to 48 mean?

The 17 is for lazy people like me that don't like to stare at the music when recording. A good way to keep up with where the changes are. You count how many times you played the same thing (every 4 bars) then make the switch to the new part the 18th time. HOWEVER, I messed up and missed that it changes two times from bar 25. So these notes are especially helpful if you plan on doing it without music.

Whoa I'm actually so pumped about this project. I only wished I was more skillful (and musically talented) but since I'm not, I'll be working on part 4 then work my way towards 1 and see how far I can get. I hope I can post some videos within the next 2 or 3 weeks if uni will give me a break amuse Can't wait to check out everyone's videos too!
