Nope, doesn't hurt, though it used to when I would play this much. Yea my fingerboard is cheap...already worn a hole clean through the veneer.

I used to OD on the guitar all the time. My finger's calluses are so thick I barely feel when I touch stuff anymore, so playing the violin is pretty smooth for me, since there are no frets and the strings are so smooth.

No, but they have become addicted to forums.
I know about these things because I was addicted to Tetris. (I'm OK now).
I know that feeling Oliver.
Ps what was your high score?
How I hated seeing tetriminos falling in my dreams LOL
I can definitely relate to your problem KindaScratchy, especially when the violin is in a good mood.

It sure was fun to read the thread... back in the days... I really get a kick out of reading some of the old threads.
I have definitely played too long at times and felt it, but I have built up to longer playing times now. And playing an hour now is really playing compared to three years ago. Meaning I play play play straight through dozens of songs.
When I first started that was a fear I had, because I would get really sore after 20 minutes.... But that all went away.
Occasionally after an hour plus playing.. I will feel it in my bowing fingers.. (but that is usually if I am bowing a new piece for faster songs and the death bow grip returns)
Vibrato Desperato.... Desperately seeking vibrato
