I got up today with the intention of learning me first non-open notes. I can do my first scale in A!!! Hey, it's not real pretty but I'm ecstatic! Thanks to the many of you that encouraged me from Day 1.

Excellent.

Songs aren't far away, now.  It is a shorter jump than you may think.

thumbs-up

way to go !!! .i think this will be your base to your violin education .scales will open your minds to compose new melodies it will improve your speed of your bow balancing much more.the key thing is to play it very slowly then after some days you will increase the speed .just like a car .the hardest thing in violin is the basic .after you pass that stage you will acceralate more than your beginners stage so repeat them will improve alot

Good luck

Great job Linda. Keep up the good work and you'll be playing 3 octave chromatic scales in no time. ;-)
