I am such a dope! I was watching some of FM's YouTube videos last night which led me to this site, so I thought I'd register and try out the forum. The registration attempt told me my email was already in use. I checked my notes and found my user name and password. I had total forgotten I had previously registered and posted this question.
What great results! So generous and kind! Possibly better than Fiddle Hangout.

I remember your being a member here before and why would anyone go to FH in the first place, this is a much friendlier site.

Thanks for the support guys, and I can't see any reason why you can't hang out on both. As long as this is your favorite

do you play guitar? Because guitar vibrato is sideways, back and forth, so it's confusing for a new fiddler carrying over some of the playing skills from another instrument? I figure it's such an advanced skill it will come with time. I'm still reading notes and where they are on the fingerboard!!
