...just fixed the Montreux Festival video (earlier post) & fiddling along with some more tunes of this era - to shake off another cold, rainy day.
SO, HERE'S A SHOUT OUT!
PICK UP YOUR FIDDLE!
PLAY ALONG WITH SOME OF YOUR OLD FAVORITES
- even if it's only a few notes, at least keep the beat, get into the GROOVE!
Top 20 ONE-HIT Wonders of the 70's
My S̶h̶a̶r̶o̶n̶a̶ 'Corona'
Thought the Intermezzo Music quartet did a great job... definitely lifted my spirits!

"Take A Chance On Me" - 1978
ABBA had quite a few hits in the 70's!
"Drift Away" - 1973
- made famous by Dobie Gray, but originally recorded by John Kurtz in '72.
"If" - 1971
...if a picture paints a thousand words... by Bread.
"Tiny Dancer" - 1971
Elton John
Got any 70's favorites you want to learn, that haven't been shared?

"Close To You" - 1970
The Carpenters made it famous, but it was originally a Burt Bacharach tune, recorded unsuccessfully by several people in the 60's.
GREAT swing with rhythm changes - and key changes, too! ...I remember when this came out - it was a real earworm!
Ah ha!
Just found A GREAT PIECE FOR 5-STRING VIOLA (or 5-string Violin)!
"Free Bird" - 1973
Lynyrd Skynyrd!
"Fooling Yourself" - 1977
I was big STYX fan - Nina DeGregorio did a great job with all the crazy time changes in this tune!
Got any 70's favorites you want to learn, that haven't been shared?

"Hold The Line" - 1978
Another Toto hit! Nice to find 'Hatman' (Mexico).
"Live and Let Die" - 1973
This piece opened my eyes to what Paul McCartney was really capable of - I was immediately hooked on orchestrated Rock music!
Two Cellos & Lang Lang!
Hatman solo!
Like to mention I watched Alison Sparrow's EV version & her bowing just wasn't as expressive, but you can check it out for yourself.
Pick a part, or mix & match for your own solo!
...think this will be my next project, but this arrangement has an extra half minute of junk added in.

Okay, there was just way too much great music in the 70's, but I'm too big of a fan of Bad Company to stop without mentioning them - and offering up some 'play-alongs' to try!
"Bad Company"
From their 1st album, Bad Company - 1974 (Full Album)
"Shooting Star"
From their 2nd album, Straight Shooter - 1975 (Full Album)
...loved many more of their hits - btw, I always thought they were a home-grown band from the USA!
