Hello again, folks!

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this stuff - anyway, it's for sharing. Not a video (I just can't get my hair to look right), not an audio, but a real old-fashioned visual (or should I say visuals).

I've been composing tunes for the last umpteen years, but only recently have I got round to writing them down.

So, here are nine of them for you :

Copyrights. LOL

Musicians often use the Poor Mans Copyright.

Yes, I made sure the copyright was there. I contacted the CIA, the FBI, and O'Bama the Llama just to make sure. Then I posted all the tunes back to myself by registered mail, and got the postal delivery witnessed by 2,345 members of the local police force, and got each of them to sign an affidavit, and also got each one to sign for the fact that they had seen the affidavit, just to be sure.

:)

But really, if I state that I have composed the tune, then to me copyright is implied. A little symbol is a nice reminder.

Anyway, please play, share and enjoy my tunes :)

I have around 40 more to transcribe ...

As a songwriter I have quite a few songs registered . But copyright law states one owns a work upon creation . The burden lies with the composer in proving they own it which is why its best to register them.

I do mine in "collections" where you can register multiple songs under one title, such as you would an album or a collection of short stories.  Sure, you can mail things to yourself but unless you send it in packaging you can prove was never opened, then it wont hold up.  Anyway, just thought I'd weigh in on this

I agree with Barry.

While it is technically copyrighted as soon as you begin to create it (at least in the US, but copyright laws vary by country), you want to be able to prove it in court if you ever have to.  Having the Federal government available as your witness for court is pretty hard to beat.

And as Barry says, it's not expensive if you register/file it as a collection. "Collected Works, 2014" or whatever.
