This is with a video I shot this morning with the rather rough seas we are having now. Even has the background audio
Its an old vid with a new background so the playing is 'questionable'
its a shame that 'I' disappeared before the background did. But I'll get it sorted
Had to wipe down the violin to get the salt spray off it after
Seen it all. Done it all. Can't remember most of ..... What was I saying????

What program are you using John?

I am using Pinnacle Studio HD Ultimate. Have been using their software for years. There is an upgrade available now that I'll have to look into.
You will see all about it here

The boxed set comes with a 'hard' user book and even includes the green screen fabric to hang on the wall.
And it's not all that expensive. I totally recommend it.

Hi FerretCool peace of work
how long does it take to make such a green screen video in Pinnacle?
Peter
@APA
Hi Peter
The putting it together in Pinnacle takes 10 to 15 minutes
The thing that takes the time is shooting the 'green screen' part as it requires lighting to eliminate any shadows on the green fabric while still lighting the subject adequately. It requires at least three rather bright lights. It's just a bit 'fiddley' (no pun tntended)
After that it's all easy

Nice work @Ferret! The Video Editor I use is the NCH VideoPad ( I believe it's an Aussie outfit that make the software ). With it you can do much the same thing, although there is no actual green sheet provided, there is a "green screen" function in the FX window. You can also just use any color as the background (assuming it's not going to be present in the overlay) - BUT - the thing I *hate* about it, and it would be SO simple to have done - is when you're selecting a "custom screen color" - man - they could have given you a simple "color picker" to select a pixel or small selection of pixels from the background you're using... instead you gotta play with the full color-spectrum chooser and repeatedly "home in" to the color you really need.... Grrrrr LOL
I used to have a much earlier version of Pinnacle - when I was recording stuff to DVD - to be honest I'm not sure why I stopped upgrading - it was just fine!

hahaha ! Fight time ! ROFL - all is good - If you are looking for a Windows target - some of the NCH stuff is "freeware" for a limited time - but during that time, the full app is available - not crippled... although to be truthful I have to say... for sure, I do not recall if the VideoPad is like that or or not.
Certainly, the NCH RecordPad software is like that - it ran like 32 recordings or whatever before it locked-out.... and it was so cool - I purchased it ( it's just an audio recorder - but it has a clever little setting that "times out" and automatically creates an new (actual file) .wav file after 5 secs ( settable ) of silence - GREAT for practice..... never have to take your hands off the instrument - and don't have to "run through" AGES of my poor attempts to find the ones that were "good" (ish - LOLOL) (just dont talk / swear / etc if on a studio mic at the time LOLOL - like "heck - that sucked..." be silent ! ) -
I don't know if Pinnacle does this type of thing for composite vid/audio or not... not trying to compare the two of them... just talking about my experience with the RecordPad and VideoPad stuff from NCH... but it the NCH VideoPad has a limited use and is "free for testing" - it is sure worth trying @Fiddlerman /Pierre / Michael
