Great 6 song medley, Joe... You are doing great, I recognized all but the 5th song, sounded kinda like, Mary Had a Little Lamb again but in a higher octave.

You're doing very well for just beginning. Keep it up.

Thanks for posting the video, Joe! I enjoyed it...no hearing protection needed.

Welcome to the forum and the world of obsessed beginning violinists and fiddlers. Looking forward to seeing more videos and following your progress. Nice work!

thumbs-up

Very nice job Joe!  Welcome and thanks for sharing!  Great left hand wrist position btw.

When I saw the title of your post this morning, I thought, someone is reading my mind; how concerned are others about protecting their hearing since the quality of your hearing is SUCH  a critical aspect of playing violin/fiddle.... but then, only to discover it was a self-deprecating comment, lol.

And I feel ya, about "why couldn't I go back 30 to 40 years"!!!!!!!!

Keep up the good work/play!

Welcome Joe! How long have you been playing? Are you learning "He's A Pirate"? Sounds like you should be.dancing

Great job Joe. Keep it up and you'll be really happy with what you will accomplish in the future.

Your left arm looks pretty good from what I can see. Can't see the hand too well. The right arm and hand look good to but try to curve that pinky so that you can eventually get some flexibility in those fingers.

Thanks for the post smile

Joe, YOU'RE A LIAR! No ear plugs were needed after all, and I spent 10 minutes finding some and then didn't 'em after all.

WOW, you are doing great! A beginner you say... hmmm, maybe an intermediate beginner... I find it somewhat difficult to keep all the music straight in my head, didn't look like you were reading it but I could be wrong in that respect.

You're going to fit right in around here... again... GREAT job.

I think it was Itsy Bitsy Spider.

1. Mary Had a Little Lamb

2. You Are My Sunshine

3.Twinkle Twinkle

4. Frere Jacque/Are You Sleeping

5. Itsy Bitsy Spider

6. America the Beautiful/God Save the Queen

Welcome Joe, That's really good for just starting out. Nice violin too! Don't worry about turning back the clock just think of the many years of fiddling to come.
