This was after about a year of violin lessons.  Wish I had more of my progress. The small room makes the violin sound a bit harsh.  No vibrato what so ever. This was only my second time through, first take with the camera, but sadly I blow the last three notes.

Nice going, great to see you using all tools available and writing your own accompaniment. Wish I had thought of doing it.

As a beginner myself, all I could sayS relax more and believe in yourself. Expect a good sound and it will come, tense up, because you think you'll do it wrong,an you probably will.

I am amazed at how old people of my age are.....

You know, when you get the tune memorized, your fingers will know where they are going next automatically and you'll play so smooth and with more depth and feeling.

You're half way there! Awesome work. Slurs will make it smoother as well, and long bow strokes will help the smoothness.

Think about changing bow direction at the same time you make a note change, and if you time it just right, it's undetectable. ...you will feel fantastic the first time to roll from note to note automatically and blend with the piano.

Then you get to work on vibrato! lol

rock on brother... that tune will sound fantastic when you master it.thumbs-up

I had some sheet music on the stand because it had been several months since I learned it.

Yes, bowing has been a completely new thing for me, since I am basically a sax player. There's hardly any overlap between sax and violin in repertoire, favorite keys, friends, and playing situations.

I'll have to record something recent because this was recorded last spring. Now there's less space between what I think and what I play, although I have a long ways to go before it's as easy as a woodwind.
