Toni, what kind of file were you trying to upload?

These are my preferences for now. If you would like to upload a different type of image file, let me know and I may add it. Believe it or not, I had to add the upper case letters or the files were rejected. So if you mix lower and upper case on your extensions it probably won't work. I haven't tested that recently though. LOL

Thanks for sharing.  That's a very pretty piece.  I love learning about all the different songs people are playing here.

@Fiddlerman  yes...more relaxed than ever.  Thank you.  I wish I had remembered bowing for that.. But.. Playing from sheet is newer ... The good thing about videos.. We learn... Thank you!

I had trouble pasting the link and my options for linking are disabled.  So I went to HTML and linked from there???

@Georganne  thank you!   :)

Since when are your link options disabled? Did you highlight the word you wanted to link first? If you don't highlight them, they won't show as being active.

Please let me know if their is a problem. Are you also using IE with the incomplete toolbar?

I am sorry I didn't get a chance to follow this thread. It started about the time my wife went into the hospital. She was in there for 4 months, so I didn't get a lot of violin playing done.

I enjoyed all of the videos that have been posted.

I am not working on any particular pieces of music right just my technique. I am doing different exercises in about 6 books. I'll practice an exercise 10 times and move to the next book. Whenever I run out of time, I just pick up right where I left off the next day. I'll pick out my favorite exercise and play it one time as a recording. If it happens to be good. It is good. If it is lousy, sorry.

Pierre, I appreciate the comment you made about bringing the elbow under the violin in order to play faster. I want to get faster. My teacher I had a few years ago said that I have my fingers to far away from the fingerboard, but he really didn't give me a suggestion on how to correct it in a natural way.

I liked the idea of having a duet contest. My daughter and I could play one, I think she is even registered on here now. She doesn't play much though.

I too hope that your wife is well now.

You reminded me of the duet contest. I'll implement that soon. :-)

I look forward to that.

@ Katie:  I'm sitting here chuckling in my stomach, not laughing at you, but in amazement on how well, you got it together , and how good your blue violin sound's.

Awesome job on such a tricky little tune / cute tune.

Good going, Katie.  clap Keep it up.

Ken.

I'm continually amazed at and inspired by Katie's bow control and confidence. Great job!

thumbs-up

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

I love that Simple Gifts song - very nicely done duet!!  Isn't it also known as Lord of the Dance.

Have you seen this video?  I love it!!

That used to be one of my warm up songs until I memorized Perpetual Motion from Suzuki Book 1.

I play Perpetual Motion starting with string G, then D then A.  Trying to get faster and faster as I go.

Hopefully some day I will be fast on all of Berty's strings!!

I am trying to load a video but for some reason I can't upload it on You tube.

OK, got the video up loaded.  Right after tuning I jump into this tune.  I just realized today that I should change it up and start with the A string, D, then G, so I can change the speed to faster and faster on the G string.

Funny since I knew it was to be looked at as a warm-up I was not nervous.  Please ignore the dust under my violin case!!  No wait I know that is - rosin!!
