4th of July is just around the corner!
I don't want to go crazy, but really feel the need to play something a little more than just the basic...

Anyone have a favorite version?
FM A Tune a Week #13 - Star Spangled Banner Tutorial!

John Philip Sousa's "The Stars and Stripes Forever" play-along from Virtual Sheet Music!
I'm not particularly fond of the fact my parents were Mitch Miller fans, watching his "Sing Along With Mitch" TV Series in the 60's. So, guess I can't be blamed for having these "Stars and Stripes Forever" parody lyrics stuck in my head - I was at an impressionable age. (lol)
Be kind to your web-footed friends

Be kind to your friends in the swamp

Great Party started!
American Folk/Patriotic Tune Party - July 2022
Wish I'd seen this video earlier - here's "13 Patriotic Country Songs That Make Us Proud to Be American" (Taste of Country)!
"God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood" - Play-along Violin I did a version of this on my 5-string Violin here: https://fiddlerman.com/forum/p.....ry/page-3/
"American Flag on the Moon" by Brad Paisley Justin Williamson is the fiddler in this tune!
"Have You Forgetten" by Darryl Worley Powerful message and the tune really lends itself to the fiddle or viola!
"American Heart" by Faith Hill Really nice message with a melodic tune perfect for the fiddle!
"Born in The USA" by Bruce Springsteen - VIOLIN TUTORIAL from Adrian Varela I corrected the link for this tutorial, but as famous as this song was - it's about someone lost in their life and IMHO doesn't really belong on this list.
🤔... didn't find a lot of these tunes played on the fiddle, now why is that?
Maybe we can change this!

While fighting off a headache this morning, looked for a bit of more current patriotic music that could be adapted to Violin, Viola & Cello.
This Spaghetti Western Style, instrumental, version of Kid Rock's "We The People" by Gianluca Zanna, is basically 2 riffs - not hard to pick up, just work on the slides. Btw, the original version can be seen on YouTube - it has a powerful message that echoes the sentiments of MANY Americans, but has some explicit lyrics.
How about some Country Rock?
I'm noodling around on the viola with "This Place Called USA" by Creed Fisher, even though I have an EV - which would make it sound perfect. I'm still working on getting the voice inflections right, but enjoying this one.
Never would've thought myself a County Music fan, but Country Rock is another story - all it takes is listening to a few Creed Fisher tunes and I'm a convert!
...still not driving a pickup. (lol)
