OK, I'm about to embark on the adventure of electric violin I'd about decided on the Cecilio CEVN-1NA and was SO glad to see Fiddlerman's review and demo of it....that really, really helped! At the moment, I want to use it mainly for quiet practicing and for my own amusement, but will most likely be using it in public, too (assuming I sound OK!) But now I'm wondering about an amp. Something simple but effective, I'd be playing most times with 2 electric guitars and a vocalist, all through a PA, but in a quiet setting and not at any huge volume.
A (non-violinist) musician friend recommended the Vox mini3, which is a guitar amp. Would something like that work well for electric violin as well? Like I said, it's only for occasional use and I don't want to spend a lot on one.
Thanks!

I bought a small amp on ebay for electric guitars and it works just fine for me. I think it was only around 30 dollars or so.
