I am very excited about the give away, I have been wondering about the quality of this violin, I am glad to see you test it out and share your thoughts. I was wondering about thier electic violins, I have been looking for an electic violin for a few months now but I am just unsure of what to get. I have looked at the violin mics and the cheapest on I have found is $200, but Iwill still have all the chords to plug it in with, where as if a order an electic violin from the sme website you got the $99 violin from it will only cost me $149 and We have a chordless pack I can use. I am totally open to opinions and advise.

I don't care what ever kind of violin that you'll give away, All I know is that I love to have a violin that Pierre Holstein used hahaha it's like a signature from you it's pretty like "OMG! I have a violin from a professional violinist named pierre h." I can't wait who'll win. Good luck Pierre

I think violin pick-up will cost cheaper than mic, and if you want a chord less violin just use a ...... (I don't know what that thing's called but it looks like the antenna of wireless mic plugged into pick-up)confused? sorry I can't explain it well, but I think Pierre will explain something to you or from the other forum user, Goodluck

I do have a violin, no I have never played on an electic violin, and I will be using to play with my church's worship team, which is very contemporary.
The problem with electric violins and playing in a group is that you must have a monitor. You will not be able to hear yourself without it. If you amplify an acoustic violin with a condenser microphone you will be able to hear yourself but risk getting feedback through the system. Talk to your worship team and find out if they have enough monitors that you could use one if you were to purchase an electric violin. Another option is to get a Fishman bridge mounted, piezo pickup or a violin bridge with a built-in pickup. You'd have to get the bridge cut to fit your fiddle though but you can play it acoustically when not being amplified. Also you can find inexpensive transducer mics that can mount to the body or bridge. In any case, good luck with your hunt

I'm in the same boat with my church's worship team, so I'm looking forward to see how that turns out Hey, Pierre, what are the advantages of acoustic vs semiacoustic(mine) vs full electric? The discussion above mostly mentions acoustic and full electric.
