Maybe he is the right guy to do work on your bows in the future then. If he is great at what he does he deserves to make that kind of money too.
People often freak out when I tell them how much I charge and can't understand how much work and time is involved even for a one hour engagement. They understand it better if a plumber comes to their house on a Saturday evening to fix a leaky pipe and charges $300 for the visit with no advance preparation.
