So, I was just blown away by this performance of "Don't Mean a Thing" (Duke Ellington 1931) by Illia Bondarenko & Tetiana Zhmendak from 2014 in Kyiv (Ukraine Capital).
Where was Illia Bondarenko in 2022?
In a Kyiv shelter - the basement, trying to play in between bombings!
Recently (2 months ago), Illia played a virtual duet with Yo-Yo Ma - "Dona Nobis".

During the first days of the war, Slovenian and Ukrainian Youth Orchestras established urgent collaboration in the effort to evacuate young musicians and their relatives from all over Ukraine to Slovenia. The goal was to move these people to a safe environment where they could continue general and musical education, their first mission and life goal, in the best possible context. Slovenian Youth Orchestra provided assistance in evacuation from Ukraine, first humanitarian aid, accommodation, concert activities, and help for more extended family stay.
