When I talk to people who come from remote countries, I always think about what they think about me and my homeland. (I suppose they think nothing as they don't know it.)Today our government has released a short movie which tries to introduce Czechia, so let me invite you to watch it.
Maybe you'll get some imagination what Czech republic (or shortly Czechia) means.

Congrats on another great project! I love that you used the Traveler! I wish I could have participated in this one, but things have been way too hectic for me to even sit down and practice. Hopefully, the coming year will go much smoother so I can get back to it. Merry Christmas, everyone! Great job!

Well - frankly I'm astonished.
I am not one to normally "get involved" in discussions political, religious, racial or sexual because I believe in equality, and a voice for all - but when a friend of mine gets "abuse" or "unwarranted and defamatory remarks" made about them - I'll be right by their side.
I count people I "know" through FaceBook, or forum-membership here, as my friends, and equals (indeed, often "my betters" when it comes to violin and fiddle playing ).
There are very few people who give so much and so freely of their time and encouragement to others.
Lost for words...
EDIT : And yes - even when submitting multiple parts, generally, one video is sufficient ( one IS required - other parts can be .mp3 audio only - it takes me over 4 hours internet upload time for a 4 minute high-def video, the audoi only mp3 is only like 12 to 15 mins ) Does the "complainant" actually realize just how much effort goes in to these projects ????? Not just the final mix and video collage editing by yourself, but by many beginners who may have spent MANY HOURS to get something they feel happy about submitting... I AM ANGRY !!!!

On a sad note, regarding this years and last years video,Terrible accusations were made towards me regarding the lack of, and I believe they are insinuating that I manipulated and neglected video of black participants.
...
I never felt a need to say this but I love you all equally regardless of the color of your skin, gender, or sexual preference.
It's sad to hear that you have to put up with this kind of nonsense for all your hard work. Some people just don't have anything else to do except pose as being persecuted or mistreated. It's easier than practicing, I guess.
Practicing these group projects is always especially tough. I love to practice, that's all I do mostly, I don't perform except for these group projects. I've spent my whole three year career on some pieces, pieces that I was trying when I couldn't play anything at all. But I'm not on any deadline with these and nobody but me has to listen to them.
When I am working on a group project, there is always a deadline and a performance, and that makes all the difference. Time pressure makes me work harder and performance pressure makes me strive for perfection. These two standards I never quite seem to nail down when the deadline comes due. But I'm always happy to send it in knowing that at least I got it mostly right and even if it doesn't make it in the video, the hard work has made a better player.
This Christmas project I did all five parts. I must be crazy, I nearly went crazy trying to practice them. Violins 1,2 and 3 were very much alike so I worked them together. From now on I'm thinking three contributions will be my limit. But we will see.

LOL - you ARE crazy @PopFiddle - but awesome work my friend ! Don't let inane comments by some ignoramus like that put you off !
Unlike that prat who made the comments in scarcely readable English, and who clearly has NO idea of how much effort it takes, both by players and by FiddlerMan to arrive at a finished group project, we ALL put the effort in and ended up with a fine result.
Un-necessary comments from pond-life like that hurt us ALL - not just Pierre.
Ignorant little expletive-deleted....

@Fiddlerman I am sorry to hear of the horrible accusations. We all love you so much and all you do for us. You are a friend to all and you have zero boundaries for your help and kindness. I am so sorry that someone tried to make trouble.
It disgusts me.
We love and cherish you Pierre and we all feel the love back. Your devotion to help us play the violin here and be our fabulous mentor is evident to all. A MILLION THANKS. There is not enough words to express our gratitude.
And I am not just saying that. I can attest to your kindness and equality. In the "old" days when FM was small, I spent many hours over the years in chat with you and you have always been wonderful to all humans. PERIOD, END OF STORY!!!!!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

@PopFiddle I love all your contritubutions to the projects. I agree with you. Having a goal and a piece to work on that has to be timed right and good intonation is a challenge and it is one of the very things that has be always hanging out at FM.com.
I love the projects as I have learned so much. I am learning so much from the project. This project the timing and rests were complicated for me. I hope Pierre didn't pull his hair out. :). @BillyG a huge shout out for the help and support.
Anyway... Great project to all.
@intrepidgirl thanks for coming through for us with the cello part. YOU ROCK!!! Hope your exams went well.
When the video comes out I am always so eager to see who is playing. This year we had a treat with sweetie Pepa.
Love,
Toni

@terezka Thank you for posting the video. It was very beautiful. I love your home and country. I would dream of visiting someday. Excellent video. Thank you, I really enjoyed it. Of course I really loved the music and the vineyard, and castle...and well actually the whole video.
Cheers

100% with you on that...
I posted a complaint to YT - here's what I wrote so everyone knows -
I have already posted a comment on that link - so - let's GO folks... use your words carefully - I know you are angry but don't lower yourself to his/her level - and sure - you know me well enough - at times I have to restrain myself as well....
Go for it - it insults us ALL - each and every one of us - Pierre will take it personally - we should as well.... Get in there and say what needs to be said. Nicely, of course, unlike the poster...

I appreciate you playing all the parts. Thanks
I'm relieved to hear you see it that way. The first time I sent multiple parts in, I had checked first to see if anyone had done that before. You need the parts sometimes, but otherwise, it's just more work. Some day I am going to try compositing my contributions alone to see what it sounds like, but that's a real job and I haven't found the time yet. It would help to see to what extent I am getting things right. I did it once and it showed how my intonation was measuring up.

LOL - YUP - me too @PopFiddle - it is very telling !
Oddly enough - what I'm doing right now is to take Pierre's "Raglan Road" ( the double-stop version ) and although I am seriously aiming for a "sweet DS solo version" - right now I have split-it-out into two separate violin parts. I also added a viola part as a "harmony / bass line" ( sort of )
So, having a sort-of viola, I'm trying to record the 3 separate parts and mix- 'em down
It will take a day or so until I'm happy....
And THEN it will take ( because I've done this sort of thing before ) at LEAST 4 hours to get the mix and final video to how I want it - and it STILL won't be great....
SO - Just how much effort does it take to mix down 12 players' videos with maybe 20 parts ? I hope the moaning-minnie ( LOL ) reads this and gets a life...

I left a few replies... one on each video. I didn't understand that they had stolen our precious video and then wrote the description. My hands were literally shaking when I saw it... I was fuming. I kept my cool and posted the truth.
I wanted to get out my "bad self..". Oh boy oh boy....
