Those videos are most helpful Fiddlerman.

Similar to the video files, I made individual parts to the click for anyone who might want to download the mp3 files for repetitive listening. If I'm practicing something I sometimes put the audio file in "loop" mode on my player and play it over and over.

I though this might be helpful to some of you. Here's the link to access those files-

Nice job Tim @starise - thanks for that !   I know some folks prefer a play-along which is "more punctuated" where the voice is maybe a piano or something that decays from the initial attack, others like to hear an actual synthesized instrument.  I'll happily use either - if I have a preference it'll probably be the more punctuated type.

Nevertheless, a useful aid to many - thanks for the post and the support !

littledrummerboy.jpgImage EnlargerI found the biggest issue was counting the long notes tied across the bar lines, so I marked my part up as in the pic. It might help somebody who's struggling with it.

:) Yeah - @Jim Dunleavy -  I often run out of bow on those and forced into a direction change (which I suppose is OK if it can be done properly without making it sound like two repeated notes - which I can't)!   Marking up like that is a good idea - gives you additional advance notice!

OK - I was pushed for time over the weekend and didn't manage it, but with the new project extension date being Thursday - I got a vln 2 done, to add to my earlier vln 1, vla 1 and cello tracks...  just wrapping it up as an audio mp3 as we speak ( well, as I write... ) :)

No promises - but maybe get vln 3 and/or 4 tomorrow....

OK - 4 part mix - vln1, vla 1, clo 1, vln 2 - Oh - and I left the click track audible on purpose - just think how GOOD it will sound once there are say 2 dozen (or more, MORE, MORE please) audio tracks to mix down....  ( I pulled vln 2 "to the front" of the mix ) -

This is a nightmare today. Jer was out. I decided good time to do vio 4. Was doing really good on an attempt after numerous attempts. Almost done. In walks Jer. “Cid, I’m back” geesh! We had hot chocolate. He went down to the basement. Said to text him when I was done. AGAIN! Almost done with a better one. My daughter texted me. Cricket chirps showed up in my recording from her text announcement. Give me a break.

Will try again. She has not tweeted back in 10 minutes. Might be done.

I will get this done. i will get this done. I will get this done. “I am woman, hear me roar!” Love Helen Reddy.

I just submitted Violin 4. Yippee. Hopefully, there is something useful in it. No, “Cid, I’m home” and no background cricket sounds, although could sound better than my violin. Time to rest, then my Vocalise on my cello for Wednesday’s lesson.

For those wondering about this group project. It is fun. Most of you know my issue with playing with or in front of people. This is a great way to get used to it. Just bow to the beat on measures you can’t get. Then do the notes when you can. Someone will get the notes you missed. By bowing to the beat, you stay in the right timing when you join in. I learned a lot with this project. This is my first time. I was always skittish about trying it. I am not an experienced violinist by a long shot and I winged my way through.

OK, I slipped in my 4 parts late last night. No cello, will ponder that if I have time. Harmony is not too hard for this tune. Yay, looking forward to the finished product!

I have to say. This was a whole lot of fun to do and I am not really that good on violin. I did a redo of violin 3 that I did with the Traveler. It was better. The ending is still not doable for me, but I winged it so the bow is moving to the tempo.

I submitted violins 3 and 4. Video will only be used from one, but it was fun, so I did 4, also.

I learned a lot and had a chance to “play with others” without the fear of playing with others. I highly recommend others do this the next time. Wherever you have issues, just open string bow to the tempo. I even attempted the notes knowing I had a 50 50 chance of hitting it right, but kept the rhythm going. Where I messed someone else would hit it right.

It was a great learning experience and a hoot.

I discovered this proj (and this forum) just on Saturday and rushed to practice Violin Part 2 over the weekend, then submitted via email on Monday evening. I wish I had found this proj earlier so that I can practice more to play it better.

That being said, I had a lot of fun working on it.

I Started to learn Violin from last Feb, as a beginner, this is the first time I play something that is not from the Suzuki book and have to arrange how the bow goes all by myself (those notes with 6 beats are killing me......).

I hope there will be more group projects coming up!

Just saw it pop up on YouTube! Looks and sounds great!

Thanks for organizing and mixing this, @Fiddlerman ! And nice playing with everyone!

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.
