Someone recently said it is the "packaging", not the content and this indeed is taking over the American entertainment scene. The performer obviously finds it more effective to feature a tumbling act, etc. to stand out from the crowd. Maybe, in fact, the classical scene is not what it used to be for the best career opportunities. I think the performer is skillfully doing something but I'm not sure what it's supposed to be and I certainly don't need it in my CD rack.
I think the lady on YouTube who plays upside down while hanging from silk veils is perhaps even more "unique".

Not so many people know that Rybak was a student of Piotr Janowski in Oslo.
Piotr Janowski – not well known (even in his homeland) great violinist. "Wieniawski's" I Prize Winner at age 16. After basic studies at Warsaw Conservartory became a prominent student of Heifetz, Galamian and Francescatti. Unfortunately died of heart attack in London a 3 years ago.
I would like to introduce here Janowski's art of playing :

"Inspiring a lot of kids ". To do what ? Mimic ?
I have a high school age relative who is very well known in youth orchestra circles in the Philadelphia area and has even attended special programs sponsored by the Philadelphia symphony. She is outstanding on both violin and viola.
HOWEVER, she is now inspired. She has her new Viper e-violin, the new Xmas looper and an amplifier which could remove paint. This summer she will attend a Mark Wood music camp.
She practices at my single brother's house and he is about ready to pull the plug.
So, there you have it. Another potential (inspired) CD you wouldn't buy.
