Seeing this image gave me an idea - I like this idea of a 3-D sculpted relief on a fiddle back - yeah.... could be done with either a bit of 3D-printing or laser cutting... yeah - it's a "plan"....
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - 
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

I've come across some Chinese fiddles on ebay with carved backs. Even thought they probably wouldn't sound great, it makes me want one, haha.
A couple of the coolest looking fiddles I've seen were made by Lukas Wronski. His fiddles look like pieces of art
