I just read an article about a 2 minute daily exercise. It got me wondering. I have read about gadgets to strengthen your fingers. But, there is more to playing a bowed string instrument than your fingers.

Your bowing arm gets a workout as well as your fingering arm. If you think about it, so does your shoulder. Even the cello gives my legs and back a workout. So, why does everyone just talk about fingers.

Now, I am not an exercise nut, just a nut! I am, however, thinking of trying something that will help with the arms, back and legs. I am not saying what I am going to try because I am not a doctor or Physical Therapist. But I am going to try to do some kind of 2 minute exercise everyday along the lines of what I read. I will have to modify it, as the author said some might have to do. She modified to make it harder for her. Really? Did she have to tell me that!?

I will see if I actually do it everyday, and if I do, if it does anything. It will probably make me sorer.

@Mouse -

I think that's a GREAT idea!

Don't forget about the Kim  Kashkashian Seminar, here:

You might find this helpful to use, along with your exercises.

I feel pretty silly trying to do some of this while sitting up in bed, but I do the best I can & every little bit helps.
