I'd like to 'officially' suggest a Heading in 'Genres' - for Canadian Styles.
Québécois French, Acadian French and Métis French are spoken in parts of Canada, but Canada is a 'melting pot', like the USA - and like the USA, has developed it's own styles of music because of it.
To lump Canadian fiddle music in with 'French' or 'Irish/Scottish/English/Cape Breton' genre Headings is like saying music here (USA) should be considered music of Britain - because we speak English.
I have only felt good giving Canadian music it's own recognition by placing topics under the 'International' genre heading, but there's enough threads scattered across the forum to warrant Canadian Styles having their own Heading.
I've been poking a stick at this for quite a while (in different threads), to see how others feel about it (I really would love to know)...
