I was thinking that maybe the section for Violin strings, rests, etc could be more string instrument generic.
The reason is that questions about strings for cellos/violas, bows for cellos/violas, in some instances, cross over. Plus, some cellists also do violin or viola. This would also be true of violinists playing cello and/or viola.
I have a question to post about strings for Evie, my new cello, and violinist opinions would also work. I do not think the viola and cello section gets looked at often by non-violists and non-cellists. Also, there are no sections for bows and strings and other tools in the cello and viola areas. It is learning and playing. A violinist is not going to go to that section, therefore, would not see that the question is about strings or bows that would also be applicable to violin.
Learning and Playing cello or viola would be different, but many string, tools and acessories would cross over.
I don’t want to cross post my question, but would be interested in all opinions or thoughts because a violinist would have experience with thismpredicament or question, but the subject is cello strings, not violin strings.
Also, tuners, rosin, etc that would be covered in the specific Violin accessory (not sure what that section called on the forum) would also apply to cello and viola.
So, what about having the violin “tools and accessories” be Violin, Viola and Cello Strings, Accessories and Tools?
Any thoughts, Fiddlerman?
They call me, “Mellow Cello”
