@BillyG Yea, I have seen that video. It is quite fun to watch. I love the low notes that are hit loud and hard periodically.

Also, my goal was not to be able to play like that. Yippeee! I have reached my goal. 😂

Thanks for reintroducing me to that fun video. I have to send a link to this to my goddaughter, favorite niece, buddy, birthday mate later today. She will get a kick out of it. She is the current owner of my (formerly my) pawnshop cello.

Well, yesterday I had my brother and sister-in-law over for lasagna, cake and icecream. I am not big on birthday parties, but this was a marker one and I wanted to do something different. Jer suggested I have my brother and sister-in-law, and son and daughter-in-law over. My son couldn’t make it out, so it was just the four of us. We had fun. I sent some lasagna and cake home with them.

My brother, sister-in-law, and Jer sang, “Happy Almost 65th Birthday, To You”. What a hoot!

The lasagna recipe is the best one around from an old cookbook I used to use when I was a kid. The book is in shreds now but when my mother offered that old cookbook to me years agao, I jumped on it! I keep putting it back together.

The chocolate cake recipe is the best chocolate cake recipe ever. My cousin used to make it when I was a kid (she was a lot older than me) and she gave me the recipe when I got married. My brother and his wife are always thrilled to have some of both of these when I make them.

When my son feels better, we will bring some out for him and his wife. They both freeze well.

Oh, I told my brother and sister-in-law, “No gifts” (one of the reasons I don’t like to have birthday parties). Well, they gave me one anyway. Back early Summer I did up some lasagna and oatmeal raisin cookies, steamed veggies, and chicken dishes, and individual pizzas for them when my brother had surgery. I had all the food frozen in meal size servings so they only had to remove whatever meal they wanted from the freezer and heat it. They said they had to get me a gift.

They gave me a gift card to a restaurant that Jer and I have not been to in about 30 or more years. They go there quite often. I cannot wait to go. Fun!

So, that was my 65th birthday. This thread was a nice topping on my cake!

@starise Oh, no, not Death By Chocolate. I make, what I call “Elsie’s Chocolate Cake”. It does not have any eggs or milk. It has a little vinegar (1 tsp I think), some veggie oil, flour, sugar, Hershey’s Cocoa, vanilla (which I always double in everything), and some other normal cake ingredients. Best darn chocolate cake ever.
