This one came to mind after my good lady was watching the "Sharpe" series (hmmm, although a UK production, I would imagine it has been widely franchised and I'm sure many our our States-side members will know of it) [ Hahahaha, I suspect Debbie has a "thing" for Sean Bean LOLOL ! But is is a worth-watching series nonetheless ! ]
Anyway - I was taken by the John Tams version of "Over the Hills and Far Away" as used (in various guises) throughout the series - I was ( well AM, eventually when I have the time ) going to start a party-thread for the tune - but until I get the time - I thought I'd just mention it here
Here's a YT vid and a couple of thesession.org variations (basic, and naturally, to be developed into a unique individual performance, such as are ALL fiddle tunes intended to be performed! ) -
and at thesession.org -

Cool, especially the John Tams arrangement in the YT vid...
Enjoy !

@BillyG -
Nice tune!
Just had a workshop at Fiddle Hell about seconding with the beat like that, but instead of the same drone throughout the tune - think I would enjoy it more with at least 1 chord change. (lol)
Thanks for sharing this tune!
I'm not the quickest (still owe Katie a tune) and have way too much on my plate, but I'll support whatever Party you start!
...have to get back to FIDDLE HELL!

Interesting @elcbk - yeah - I've been humming-along to the drones part, thinking about how I might present it (drone + melody-line mix), and am always so tempted to shift to another chord-tonic on occasions.... Yes, I can see WHY it was purposely done and it does add a certain feel (with the lyrics) - but, agreed, I'd do it differently for a soloed ( I mean no vocals - just drone + melody ) take... yeah... interesting, ty for the thoughts!
A work (soon to be) in progress ! Yup !
