Maybe not so much about stringed instruments here.   There is some discussion about him taking violin early on and how hard it was.  But so far a great discussion about how he approaches writing scores. Really great when Rick asks a question about Shawshank and Thomas cant recall.  Rick plays the track and while its playing Thomas describes whats going on and how they used sampling and various techniques to get the sound.  Also about what chord types are happening.  This is around 29:00 or so.

I havent finished yet so no spoilers! 😉😀

@ABitRusty -

Very interesting!

🤣... giving up violin cause it was too hard.

I had to look up what 'Temp' music is. (lol)

🤔... "cheating phrases to get to where you need to be" - very cool, the focus on everything that has to happen, in each short block of time, for film scores.

A lot in this - will have to listen to more tomorrow.

@ABitRusty -

No, Rick hasn't done a Hans Zimmer interview (that I can find)... yet.

This is my absolute favorite (recent) interview with Hans Zimmer - have you seen it?

Rick has SO MANY great videos pertaining to Film music - so many great videos, period!  I plan on getting around to watching more.  ...been trying to think of a fun way to get the kids interested in his 'interval training concept' for solfege.

@elcbk i see whqt you did there!  blink   banjo jokes 😁

Really liked the oxford interview of Thomas Newman.  Not much specifics on music like in the Rick Beato interview, but still interesting hearing whats on the audiences mind and how he answers questions.
