@allsjfiddlers ( LOL ) - I've probably said this somewhere before - but I'm only planning 30 mins - so if someone wants to jump in between myself and Dennis, that's great.  If NOT - I'll try keep the session going - maybe mess with my violinola for fun...  but if there is anyone, either NOW or while online, wants to butt-in after my 30 mins - please don't hold back - just throw some virtual rotten tomatoes at me and I'll walk off-stage !

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

I'm hoping to do half an hour so if someone wants to take a break then come back and jump in after me or add yourself after me, it's 6 pm Alaska time.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

I think Toni is coming in after me.

I'm in at 3pm PST and I can drag mine to 30 mins with all the chit chat I might have to do.

By the time most of you read this it will be Saturday...FiddleFest !!

Now take a moment and think back to the day you first drew that bow across the strings..bet you never thought you be in a live show together with your fellow fiddlers,did ya ?

well each of you have earned this through all those hours and times of frustration.

Today is your day...shine , have fun and share your music with the world.

see ya'll there !!

Wish I wasn't working today.
I'm proud of all you guys. I'm sure it will be a great success and a lot of fun. If you get nervous, remember that it's all about having a good time and not impressing anyone. A step in your journey as a fiddler. :)
For nerves, it helps me to breathe deep and from the stomach (where you sometimes feel nervous)
Lean forward. Place your concentration on the beauty of the music you are performing rather than the situation. Forget everything else for that moment.
Don't be in a hurry to go from one piece to another, hear the piece in your head before starting. Test the air by playing a few notes and chatting, that could calm your nerves. Smile and laugh....
Don't compare yourself to anyone else, you are unique.
Have fun today!!!!!!

@coolpinkone -

Toni, try not to be nervous. You're among friends, and the other musicians at StreetJelly are very kind and patient.

So just have fun with it!

Happy Fiddlefest!! laugh

@coolpinkone - listen - you'll be fine !    I assume you caught some of my goofy stuff - relax - as @Feathers said - you are among friends.

There is a long time traditional saying for live performances - imagine your audience nekkid - well - a long time back I tried that once and had to walk off-stage in a fit of laughter - the "yips" started just by the thought of it - so much so that I came to believe I had been told that simply in order to sabotage my act.....   so DON'T EVER do that, just forget the camera and imagine you're playing in front of a good friend, who knows just where you are in your playing ability - no one - ABSOLUTELY NO ONE - is judging you.

When I'm playing, I generally have the bow well under control - tonight I ended up on top of the bridge - do you know why - actually I was SO relaxed into it I was chatting back to viewers and NOT concentrating....   now there's a thing....

You'll be just fine !

Oh damn, I'm done with StreetJelly for the time being. I deserve a LIVE badge now dang-it!

Damn, how do people do that on a stage?

Bill, you did awesome!

@cdennyb - LOL mate, I was just winging it - and as first on I felt I had to thank in advance everyone that brought this to fruition - Frankie for his SJ site, Barry for getting us "into gear", the performers yet to come, those from the forum who may not be performing but who have given us so much technical advice and knowledge for free, and last but not least, @Fiddlerman himself for the sheer brilliant concept of the FIDDLERMAN.COM site and all the feedback we get - ^5s @all of you.

This was as good, and indeed, BETTER than going to a 2 hour concert with one fiddler/group playing - it ROCKED - well done everyone - I have nothing more to say....

Just AWED BY IT - cool....

Ugh, just went to do a sound check and there is a terrible noise on my computer when I do a test!  It sounds kind of like an echo.  I restarted and tried again and it's still doing it!  It worked perfectly last time I checked.

@Georganne

 when you are doing your test... right clic on the page ...go to settings ... click on mic...a setting to reduce echo should come up.

Hope this helps..

No Toni, that didn't help.  But plugging in the ear buds did.  Thanks.
