I just watched, The Violin Alone. I recorded it a while ago from our PBS station. It is kind of hard to describe. Here is the best link that I could find,

I was not sure I was going to like it, but I couldn't stop watching as the composer and violinist worked on this piece, a concerto for violin alone. The violin covered the other instruments, clarinet, flute, oboe, etc. 

If you get a chance to watch this, it is well worth your time.

It is quite interesting. The composer was not sure it was even humanly possible to do what he wanted to do.
