Have any of you folk got ideas for tunes to play for Halloween.

Halloween is not 'big' here in OZ so we are not really familiar with music for the event

Hmmm....  I can think of a few "related" songs - but they're all like pop/rock stuff - I dunno - Werevolves of London, Don't Fear the Reaper and so on.....   but - what REALLY comes to mind is the Rocky Horror show....  now - as I recall there are quite a number of bits that would fit the bill...  I'll have to go find the DVD now!

  <<< I like this one, sounds like it could be adapted .....

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

@BillyG

Bill

I totally love that movie. Have watched it many a time.

I think that I may have found one to do. It's called 'The Ghost of John'. That could work rofl

Here's a cover of The Doors' 1967 hit "People Are Strange".  The youtube comments inform that "This version was recorded in 1993 in Sydney with the band His Majesty", and, oh, Tiny Tim does all the vocals.

@RosinedUp

That is a great song. I haven't heard it for a long time.

Its a definate possibility. If I can't find the sheet, I could probably do it by ear in a week or so. If I where to do that I'd do it from 'The Doors' version.

Thanks.

So Im guessing someone will be starting a Halloween party ??  I'll be doing a Viola version of "Ghost riders in the sky", I'll even record a backing track with my guitar !!

Barry, thank you for mentioning ghost riders.  I had forgotten that.

Old Black Magic, Got you under my skin, Evil Woman, Black Magic woman, Adams Family theme, house of rising sun.  Those come to mind.

@Barry  Would you be interested in starting it?  Or may be @KindaScratchy or perhaps  @BillyG   :)

Folk may be getting sick of Ferret after the 'international Talk Like As Pirate a day' project. roflol

Not so hot on the classics here - but Marche Funebres, Witches Dance, even Carmina Burana come to mind....  Possibles ????

Good one Barry. I'd suggest that you kick it off a couple of weeks or so before Oct 31 to give folk plenty of time to get their tune together.

Should be fun :)

I've been trying to think of some songs to add to the possibility list. vampire7

So far I have Werewolves of London, Love Potion No.9, and a real oldie - The Hearse Song.

 Thanks @Feathers  it is a bit harder than I thought..but some parts sound really pretty.. and I do love it.. maybe I could just repeat the first parts and not have to do the quick parts. :)

Oh such fun ideas.  I would love, love, love anything from Rocky Horror.

 I'm thinking of learning parts of this one. I think you could play the main themes in first position. I'm sure it will sound really scary when I play it ;)

Well I put my phone down and did chores while listening to this gorgeous bit of playing.  I loved it... Thank you for posting.  I hope to play that one day.
