I'm sure a lot of members view the Fiddlerman site as a guest as I do a few times every day, but I haven't seen posts from some of our old friends for a while.
Katie? Where are you? Any updates on your progress? We miss your smiling face!
Jim Dunleavy? You always entertained us with your Violin, piano, flute, and everything else you're talented with. Any videos in the works?
Mark? See your comments a lot but haven't heard or seen you play for a while.
Mouse. Really liked your last recordings, but are you camera shy? It's fun to watch other people play.
Sharon. Any new videos coming? Love your duets. I like doing them too!
Emily. See your posts, but haven't seen any videos for a long time. No excuses. I know you have that violin on your shoulder every day!
So many other members out there too numerous to mention, but it would be nice to see some more videos from everyone - not just once a year at Christmas!
Me? I'm working on a couple duets with myself. Will post when I can finish putting together harmony parts and become more familiar with some new software.
So - come on members. Let's hear some music!!!

Thank you for the encouragement!
I do feel bad that some things in my life this past year have caused me to not want to record, because I really love my newest violin - some I've dealt with, but still have a couple to go before I get back to recording. You know how time flies at our age! 😉
🤔... seems to me YOU have a ways to go - to catch up to the 40+ videos I've shared on the forum (NOT including Xmas projects)!
What you are working on now sounds VERY EXCITING!
I think I will send a PM to Katie.
@Mouse - don't know what you are talking about... you make great videos! Have no idea why you'd be afraid to leave a video up when you can look back & be happy to see you are still playing music!

Unfortunately life has had me running around in circles for quite some time now, and I don't see it slowing down any time soon.
Someday this craziness will slow down and I'll get to practice some and start recording again.

I like this post, but the fact is its up to the individual if they want to put a video on here and shouldnt be pressurised, there are people who have never posted a video of themselves actually playing a tune but still post advice and info and I dont think there is anything wrong with that at all. For myself I post fairly regularly, mainly to relieve boredom and give myself something to do, I like to be heard, for good or ill, in the end it doesnt really matter as I am never going to be a soloist, and like most on here fiddle is a hobby, very interesting one.
I also like to hear other peoples playing but if people dont want to post for some reason of their own thats fine, by me anyway, no one on here has anything to prove, and you also get people like Emily and Abitrusty who must have posted about 4000 vids, and all very enjoyable as well.

Sorry - I didn't mean to pressure anyone to play and I probably shouldn't have mentioned any names. The members I mentioned have posted videos before and I just got curious to see if they had anything they were working on and were willing to post.
I haven't posted a video for a while either - always too many projects going in the summer. I'm sure everyone will start to get more active on the forum when the weather turns cold and we're all stuck inside looking for something to do.
Again, no offense intended. Share a video only if you feel comfortable doing so.
Have fun everyone!

ive posted many over the years.. and i guess I felt like there for a while we had the party room thing going but it petered out. I think sometimes folks dont mind joining in if they can just visit and join in and play something..having a theme sorta helps.. look at how many join the projects vs post regular. ..partly why im pretty much just scenery now. i dont mind posting a video of playing as long as theres several joining in. otherwise i just like sticking to the scenery type vids to give myself a project kinda thing to work on which i enjoy.

I jest with you!
I'm glad you said you want to see more folks participate! 🤗
The Party Room serves such a great purpose! I keep hoping more new members will participate - revive old Parties, too!
In the beginning, it was important for me to get over being nervous recording - the Parties helped tremendously! ...I'll always need multiple takes to get a good recording, that's just a given. 😏
Pertaining to my current playing the fiddle, I have to admit I'm kinda focused more on details right now, techniques, mixing & matching things - still learning where I want to be electrically, too. I DON'T really want to share just myself practicing, or any temporary ideas, right now. Took more than a few months to get comfortable with my 6-string fiddle, learning about software, about transcribing music, composing my 1st tune, etc... all the little things I talk about on the forum.
There ARE nights I get done practicing & I think, "wow, wish I would've recorded that", but it's usually time to quit... and I'm lookin' like, "yeah, just go to bed". 🥴
I do think Summertime has traditionally been the slowest time of the year for activity on the forum.
