Hello, I wrote this waltz a couple weeks ago and I was wondering if anyone had advice, especially for the B part, which I'm not particularly fond of....

WOW! I absolutely love it and really cannot find anything to say about changing anything.

I gave you a composer badge for sharing a video of you playing a piece you composed.

@Little Prairie Girl -

Oooh, Thank you!  I LOVE a waltz & this is really nice!

I'm not sure what you could possibly be unhappy with in the B part.  I only heard like a 1 note glitch at approx 0:58 that disturbed your cadence a little.

You may feel like adding or tweaking a little something down the road after playing it a bit longer - only because that's just part of being creative.

Very enjoyable - give it a name!

I just listened and watched this again. I just love it. I love the presence of your playing, I love the black and white. I love the tune. It all works so well. When you write another, and I hope you do, please share. You have great presence when you play.

EXCELLENT!  It sounds like an old timey 1800's type waltz  which is a good thing.  Theres so much to like but  I really like the descending slides youve put in.  Congrats on getting the composer badge.  Youre inspiring so drop in and post when you record new ones.  Good stuff!  I agree with mouse and like the choice of black and white for the video.

Great playing , and great tune, its got an Irish feel, as well as reminding me for some reason of the kind of music that was played in the old west on the cattle drives a kind of cowboy flavour to it, good stuff.

Little Prairie Girl,

Wonderful tune & excellent playing—definitely needs a name!

Very nice!

The thing that sticks out to me about the B part, and maybe this is the reason you don't especially like it either, is the cadence at 0:57. You're ending the phrase on a I chord, which sounds a bit too final and gives it a stop-start feeling. If you can end it on a V chord instead (perhaps change the A-D to F#-E?) it might flow better.

Thank you everyone, I'm glad you like my little tune.  I was kind of trying for an 1800's sound :)

Andrew H, Yes, I thought that felt kind of clumsy... I'll have to try a couple more times and see what I come up with.
