I used this to start a party but been practicing on my timing and I have a confession to make .. I wasn’t paying any attention to things like ‘P’ and ‘mf’ in fact I’ve written all over my music ! Not with notes but just with numbers!

Anyway I think my left hand is coming in I need to make sure I’m not doing that but I think timing wise is better and I’m trying to distribute the bow !

Sorry  about the interruption ( I had some post) and also I went wrong !!

Thanks for watching

@Katie L

Nice, smooth playing.  Your bow looks really good—and your timing is really good, too—your practice is working well.

It isn’t unusual to ignore the p & mf (dynamics) when you first start working on a piece.  I often do.  Once I've practiced the piece a bit, then I'll work in the dynamics.

And I write all over my music.  Sometimes, when I first start practicing a piece, I make a separate copy of the music to write on, because I may write a lot at first, but may not need all those annotations (& they become more distracting) once I get the piece under my fingers.

Lots of things going on when we play violin—can only focus on so many things (sometimes just one!) at a time.  Interruption?  You didn’t even break stride!  (Not until near the end, when you were thinking about it, anyway).smile

@Katie L That was really nice, and to keep on going when the door opened without missing a beat!

That is one of my favorite songs on my Don McLean CD. I never imagined it as a solo violin piece. Kudos.

excellent Katie, love the way you so obviously enjoy playing, sharon said it all really.

My missus constantly walks in when I try to record something, usually just as I have got it correct lol.

I think the straight bow you have developed is going to make you into a really, really good player. I always find it difficult to keep a straight bow and have to concentrate constantly on it.

Well done .

Thank you Stringy Mouse and Sharon. Dan said he was dropping off fan Mail ha ha!!

That’s a great idea to make a copy of the music Sharon. I’m going to do that. I think I need to address both wrists as my bow wrist isn’t leading. Also I need to keep practicing the straight bowing ! There is so much to think about !

My mum is coming tomorrow we are going to try and get me to play with a backing track hmmm not sure that is something I’ll be able to do. My brain just goes to pot. I’m just lost as soon as the music starts.

I do love playing String and I’m looking forward to having a go with the dynamics!!

Thanks all!!

Thanks Mark and Emily !

I actually played with a backing track by my teacher on the piano (if that’s makes sense) today. My mum was conducting me !! So much concentration. Something I’d never done and I can’t really tell when I’m out of time and when I’m in time. But I think I understand when I’m supposed to start playing . It really is hard ! We then went for a walk !!
