This is my next project. This one won't take as much as my previous ones but I feel it'll be a nice violin.
This particular violin has a few old repairs in the top (there is a repair label dated 1940). The fittings are ebony except the chinrest which is bakelite or some other composite. I might replace it, and again, maybe not. The gut on the tailpiece needs replaced along with a new piccolo fine tuner. I love the patina on the front and will do a decent cleaning but no more so as no to ruin the look. I will also touch up the areas missing stain to some extent. The main label is dated1903 and signed but illegible. The printing on the main label is in three lines, first line says MADE IN, second line says THOMAS G**USH or, THOMAS G *USH. The third line is illegible.
