Hi- I hope this is the right place to post this request for help- if not, please let me know. For 15 years I owned a full service music store, and we had a large school rental program. I’m retiring and the shop is closed now, and I have @125 rental-return violins, mostly fractional sizes, on hand. I need to find a home for these. Most of these instruments are Asian made, but of good quality, all ebony fitted (no painted finger boards, etc). Many/most of these instruments have Glasser fiberglass/horsehair bows, but the bows will probably need rehairing. I didn’t post this on the “for sale” forum, because I’m just asking for advice on how to proceed with finding a place for these violins. Any help will be appreciated. Feel free to private message me if you prefer. Thanks very much! (I’m near Raleigh, NC)

Mouse, thanks for the reply. I’ve already donated 90+ band instruments to the local schools here, so I’m at the end of my need for tax write-offs. I’m not in the least interested in retailing these instruments, or in competing with anyone, but was hoping that Fiddlerman or some other maker/luthier might have a use for them, in which case I would ask for pennies on the dollar. That’s why I posted on the making/repair forum, instead of violins for sale. I’m just looking for a place to start! I hope that makes sense. If I’m “barking up the wrong tree”, I apologize.
