So here's a pic of both lights with a ruler / scale and the tips with the light on them together so you can see the difference in size better ...

While the little silver light is handy for reading labels , the tip is too big to go into the F holes of a violin ..ok for larger instruments only ...

The tip of the big red light does fit into the F holes of a violin and reaches to both ends , and is the best for inspection inside .

Don't want to spend $35 - $40 on a flash light ? you don't have to ...these come as a pair , available at Harbor Freight Tools , complete with batteries for under Ten bucks ...order on line and have it sent to yer door or pick up in person if there is a Harbor Freight near you ..
