We should John. It's just tough to implement it in our system. But we're professional right? LOL

True Pierre

It would be great. I'm sure that OS buyers in particular would pay the extra freight.

Meanwhile, I'll just wait :)

If it hasn't shipped yet, I'll check the rates for a speedier shipping method. :)

@Ferret

My violin teacher swears by those pegs and has strong encouraged me to buy a set. Can you let us know what you think of the when you get a chance to play around with them?  That is the one thing I have let to finish on my violin is to replace the old, mis-matched pegs.  I think I'll wear them as a necklace like a set of teeth in those LotR films...

I have 2 violins with Knilling Pegs. I love these pegs, not only does it remove the need for tail piece tuners, bit they are smoother and easier to use, no sticking or slipping pegs. They are easy to install yourself with just a few tools, or you can have a luthier install them.

Not only that but you ended up getting the right after length for good resonates. IMHO they are well worth the money.

With violins there is no fretting over the music.

That point about the tail piece is what I was told as well.  I've also hear that w/o those tuners, the quality of the sound is much better as well.  When I first had my violin restored, I installed 4 tuners as I ran out of cash to replace the pegs (and didn't see the point at the time).

These pegs sound awesome. Will be very interested to hear how you like them as well as how easy they are to install.

FedEx shipping rates are totally nuts. Why soooo much more than USPS?

Hi John

I'm sure you will enjoy the new geared pegs.

As for USPS, its cheap because they send everything by slow boat and carrier pidgeon.

you'll be lucky if they don't lose it. But we'll keep our fingers crossed for you.

I had checked and it was shipped. Also, you are right, way too expensive.

@Ferret: Be aware, John that there are right and left hand threads. The E and A have a left hand thread and the D and G have right hand thread when screwing the sleeve into the hole.

My luthier winds a slim rubber band around them which enables him to get a better grip while screwing them in.

@Fiddlestix

Ken. Thanks for that mate

I was aware of the threads. It tells you about them on the video at the Fiddlershop. I'll be careful.

The rubber band is a good idea. Will use one :)

When they get here lol
