Please begin by telling us anything you would like to about yourself. Age, place of birth, residence, etc.
My name is Terry Taylor, now 49 (where did those years go?) and will be 50 on June8, so Deb and me are celebrating by spending 2 weeks on the shores of Lake Garda in Italy, at the bottom of the Alps.

Have been living back in the UK since '93. Prior to that, after qualifying in Engineering here in the UK and no job, I had had an offer of a job on a trial basis with Volkswagen South Africa, so off I went, 11000 miles with £100 in my pocket, a suitcase full of clothes, and a promise of a job for three months. What was I thinking of!?!
What a great few years that turned out to be. From being penniless in this miserable British climate, to living by the beach, loadsa money in my "sky rocket" (pocket), and a bunch of new immigrants like myself ready to take on the world. Well, the southern African continent anyway!!

Terry, what a great profile; very cool picture you painted of your motorcycle ride through the mist in Africa.

And I would be so happy to get to "roll" with you someday; just make it before I'm 60 okay, lmao; I'll dust off the mats in my garage and we can give it a go; and you're right, isn't it a strange phenomenon that you develop such a close bond with someone who you do battle [in the modern sense) with!

It's a crack up how similar our personalities are brother, I'm just much better looking! roflol

Nice interview my friend... ever get within a 100 miles of Sacramento in the northern part of California here on the left coast, give me a jingle... I have a special drinkin' treat made right here at home to share. LOLcheers

Would love to sit and chat...

Ya, we are similar too. How can you be similar to so many different types of people. ROFL

I'm a Gemini, around your age..... take one year....

I'm interested in sailing (late in the game but WILL get there) like your late entry into playing the violin..... Did a little Jujitsu for a while, loved it but stopped :-(

At the age of 22 I was offered a concert-master job and contract in the Cape Town Opera Orchestra. We were all set to go when I backed out because of all the apartheid protests and black-listing going on. I really regret not having taken the position. In the contract they offered to pay the mortgage on a house. First contract scared me because it had a term of 5 years so I said I couldn't commit to that and they changed it to 2 years for my sake. I've never seen such a nice contract anywhere else since then.

Lekker! that would have been some contract! Only did CapeTown once, over a Christmas break (summer time) its a beautiful place with the mountain behind it.
Very windy (and can be chilly) because the cold Atlantic and warm Indian oceans meet. Oh yeah, the Cape girls are gorgeous too, not that we are interested **cough cough**!
I started with Jiu Jutsu in PE when I first arrived until I found a Karate club. A great martial art, and it WORKS!
Hope you enjoy your sailing, a sport/past time that can be enjoyed at any age, even ours! Sounds like we all need to go cruising with Denny, wouldn't THAT be a trip and a half.

It's like "Будьте здоровы!" (Cheers!) . Or, translated by words: "And you do not get ill!" (И Вы не хворайте!). Used as a reply occasionally. =)
