thank you Mark and Mouse!
mouse "..probably asked before, but how did you learn that, the bowing? Was it something you just picked up and kind of did, or were you taught? I am trying to maybe get a feel from listening and mimicking, but so far, not so good."
Ive had lessons. attended workshops. staying active in a group class for last couple of years mainly.
youre on the right track with listening and mimiking.. peter cooper the complete iriah fiddler or matt crannitchs book are extremly handy.

@Mouse For 10.00/month as of Feb 2025 you can access Hannah Harris' Tune Library which is her playing selected tunes phrase by phrase, with video and audio. Sort of a call and response kind of learning which we do in my unrelated local group class. I attended one of Hannahs workshops in person and she is a wonderful teacher so I think its a great place to start. She has zoom lessons as well if you feel like you need some specific help. I have not done any of those. I think with one of the books I mentioned above, Hannahs tune library videos, and a video lesson here or there you would get it pretty quick since you have intonation and that kind of stuff down.
Of course theres plenty of other sites and learning paths. I just have personally used these and feel like they specifically may help without having to spend hours paging through online resources.
sorry to followup.. i know that can get out of hand. 🙂

@Mouse -
I've been getting those msgs on YT (just on my laptop), also - getting harder to shake their attempt to force me to login! Sometimes I have to switch over to a couple other videos real quick, then come back. It's a bunch of BS, but I'm still getting around their adds without watching or paying them, too.
Also...

Pretty sure hearing and watching her bowing will help. I suspect that many of the tunes are in books tht I have, which I could use if I am stuck and cannot figure out the note(s).
I am seriously considering trying it, at least for a month, and co tinue if it helps. It might make it easier to figure things out, and, in a way, I am thinking my intonation will get better because I will be hearing someone who is actually playing with good intonation!
YES! YES! YES!

I should've known that was an Ed Reavy tune!
His tunes always have nice contrast between the A & B parts... and begins like he starts out on a journey - makes me want to follow! 'The House of Hamill', 'The Whistler Of Rosslea' are 2 of his I want to work on.
The pictures had me fooled (I know how good YOU are)!
Where are the photos from? ...come on, tell more.

appreciate that mouse. Im just following through on what i learned as best I can. Probably not even exactly. 🙂 Id say you may want to checkout someone like mossies version and slow it down. Ive used him alot on different tunes and he also has a site for lessons...i think. I looked and didnt see hunters house on hannahs tune library. As reels go, i would say its a little bit more involved than some i learned early on but it isnt too terribly difficult, especially at my speed or slower. Im just not able to get much faster with it at the moment.
EDIT
@Mouse One thing i kniw for sure is im starting on an upbow on the B note of the A string. and i slide up with the finger as im bowing. and i do that from time to time on differwnt notes. I know i slide past the notes sometimes so thats why it may be off sounding here and there.
