Hi Everyone,

Just wondering what is being planned for the coming year?  I know we usually have a group project closer to the end of the year but are any being planned say around August? Just putting out feelers.  Everyone have a fabulous day practicing!  :)))

Welcome to the forum,

After the fiddlershop move is completed I believe fiddlerman is going to tweak the game of thrones arrangements and see if enough he can get enough folks participate to finish that project.

Alright, alright..... Thanks for the reminder, LOL. 😆
My wife and I also just took a 2 week vacation sailing to Key West and back. You have no idea how much catching up I have to do.
I'll get on it soon. If I don't, you guys can pounce on me. 🥴

Thank you Mark for replying so quickly.  Just in case Fiddlerman decides to go with Game of Thrones I will have a quick look at the sheet music.  Thanks again.

It's already decided. Just give me some time to review the parts.

Could you possibly do Water Music By Handel? Maybe have two different parts, a simplified and advanced?

What movement(s) were you thinking of? I guess the Bourree from Suite No. 1 or the Hornpipe from Suite No. 2 would be among the more familiar movements?

The advantage of doing something like that is that I wouldn't have to write the parts. :)

Hi,  Just throw in my two cents... How about the Ludlows, such a pretty piece.  I found this PDF for free on the web (not sure about copyright??)

I play Violin 1 with my piano buddy and it is lovely.

Cheers everyone,

Not that I know how to play it yet, but on YouTube, the Ludlows sounds really nice. It has an orchestral vibe.

Hi, VT yes, it is a pretty piece.  If you play violin, get a pal to play piano.  Last time my friend and I were playing it, the guy working on her house, stopped and listened and really enjoyed it.

Mr. Fiddlerman, I am already thinking Christmas. Please consider the fun "Baby its Cold Outside" and Holst's "In the Bleak Midwinter." christmascandle

How about a lesson for Skye Boat or Ashoken Farewell?

Ok, I am getting crazy!!!

Thanks for all the free lessons and group projects.  Game of Thrones will be my second and I am already looking forward to a new project!!

Cheers,

Violingal

Two great Christmas suggestions. And why not plan ahead. I am always a bit late. What say others?

As for other projects. I'm open for suggestions.

@Fiddlerman - For another project, perhaps something adapted / arranged from one of the several themes within Die Fledrermaus, Overture ?   Plenty to put a smile on folks faces in that one !    :)

The second main theme (bar 122 onward, tempo di valse) is probably what @BillyG is thinking of. The horns could be re-scored for the celli, and the high woods for violas / violins. It's about a minute long at tempo, but @Fiddlerman has skills which will do wonders here to adapt and arrange.

Disclosure: I'm a great fan of waltzes.

How about "My Heart Will Go On" from the movie Titanic? Maybe "Edelweiss" from the Sound of Music? Pierre has the special talent to write the second and third part harmony. I know, I know - there I go thinking again without the right equipment!
